CLEAN AIR NETWORK - HONG KONG

Clean Air Network is an independent NGO which aims to educate the public about the health impacts of air pollution. Air pollution is the city's biggest health crisis killing 3 people per day. CAN is engaged in a 360° mobilization campaign to create grassroots support for clean air in Hong Kong. By working closely with District Councillors, Legislative Councillors, community, business and student leaders, CAN is spreading its message through numerous channels in society.

Greennovate Environmental Challenge for Kids Outreach (GECKO) is an outreach program that offers free, innovative educational programs for middle and high schools in China since 2008.

CHILD'S DREAM - LAOS

Child's Dream Foundation has grown to be a very effective and highly regarded charity in the Mekong Sub-Region. Child's Dream works to improve educational infrastructures (building schools, nurseries, vocational training centers and colleges) with the aim to broaden access to education for every child. It also regularly becomes involved in other humanitarian concerns affecting the area such as health intervention, sanitation and other community issues. Together with the 'Andrew Woinarski School Foundation', Child's Dream is providing a much needed education to children in Laos.

NEW HOPE - CAMBODIA

New Hope Community Centre is situated in one of the poorest areas in Siem Reap. It supports a community of over 300 families. New Hope's mission is to restore hope, dignity and promise to these once proud and prosperous people. The ethos of the New Hope Community Centre it is 'opportunity through education'. New Hope is a grass roots organization, it takes a holistic approach to rehabilitating families surviving in crisis situations. Whilst 'free education for all' is its priority, its break the cycle of poverty by also focusing on the chronic malnutrition; ill health and appalling living conditions facing students and families every day.

BAAN GERDA - THAILAND

BaanGerda is a small community 230 km north of Bangkok, where 85 HIV infected and affected orphans live and receive medical treatment in family houses under the care of foster parents.
It is a project of the Children’s Rights Foundation, a Bangkok-based non profit organization. BaanGerda is the only organization in Thailand that provides family-style homes for orphans, as well as comprehensive HIV care.

Discrimination, access to education and violence against women continues to be a significant global issue. Within the region, Malaysia has experienced tremendous economic development, and is now poised to address important social developments including the empowerment of women.
Women's Aid Organisation is a small yet respected pioneer for women's rights in Malaysia. They have been successful campaigning and lobbying for legislation to protect women, as well as directly supporting victims of violence, harassment and human trafficking.

PANECO - INDONESIA

The coastal peat swamp forests of Aceh, Northern Sumatra, are among the most precious natural habitats in the world and are crucial for local livelihood.
Nevertheless and although protected by laws, palm-oil plantations are destroying this unique ecosystem. PanEco and its local partner foundation YEL fight to conserve the peat swamp rainforests of Northern Sumatra.
The consequences of the destruction of Tripa are dramatic. The biodiversity is destroyed, local vulnerability to Tsunami like disasters increases, people lose their means of sustenance and huge quantities of carbon are emitted into the atmosphere, contributing to global warming

ACTION FOR CHANGE FOUNDATION - TIMOR LESTE

Timor Leste has been suffering from violent conflict for over a decade. In the wake of the fighting, a generation of young people have had their education and chances of employment disrupted. With few options, many turn to gangs and street crime, perpetuating the cycle of violence.
Action for Change Foundation are engaging vulnerable young people, whose lives have been disrupted by conflict. They promote peace and non-violence through sports; and provide job-skills training to improve employment opportunities.

It aims to support practical Indigenous land and sea management using strategic approaches to care for country with an emphasis on practical management by Traditional Owners across the whole of the North.
