SANY0250rThe Wheel2Wheel expedition is rapidly approaching its ninth country, Timor-Leste. Morgan Parker is visiting 10 charitable organisations in 10 countries during his journey, which is being filmed for television. He is particularly keen to explore Timor-Leste, and experience first-hand its unspoiled tropical beauty and growing reputation as an adventure travel destination. W2W is raising awareness of the work of Action for Change Foundation (ACF), creating life opportunities for young people in Dili through their sport for peace and job-skills training programmes.

We are honored and delighted to announce the support of the Timor-Leste Government for our efforts – through The Office of President Ramos-Horta and the Timor-Leste National Directorate of Tourism.

Thanks to their support and the incredible support of our friends and sponsors in Dili, here’s a chance for YOU to join in the Wheel2Wheel action!

Riders will assemble outside Government House, Dili, at 8:00am, then Morgan will head a large convoy of local riders along the iconic coastal route. Lunch will be provided in Baucau, before returning to Dili in the afternoon.

More about ACF:

In each country, we started by identifying an issue that has wide reaching impact and resonates personally. Then we searched for organisations effectively tackling those issues at a grass-roots level, built around the work of inspiring individuals. In the case of Timor-Leste, we wanted to learn more about the challenges of building a nation. We learned about the current generation of youth in Timor, who had grown up during the conflict years, and often whose education and life opportunities had been disrupted. When we were introduced to Jose de Jesus (founder of ACF), we were inspired by his initiative and drive to rebuild his community from the ground up,” explains Parker.
